SALT SPRING SUMMER

Music • Culture • Community

Hello from Mariners Loft.

We want to welcome you to summer on Salt Spring Island — a season filled with music, ocean air, late sunsets, community gatherings, and unforgettable nights around the harbour.

Whether you're visiting for the weekend or settling in for the season, we’re glad you’re here.

Summer on Salt Spring Island feels like its own soundtrack.

The days move between café patios, market mornings, ocean swims, and late sunsets over Ganges Harbour. By night, the island shifts into live music, outdoor gatherings and conversations that stretch long past dark.

Pitchfork Social

This summer’s Pitchfork Social series brings indie artists, DJs, producers, and local creatives together for intimate island events at The Jam Factory on Salt Spring Island.

Attending a Show

Dinner pre-sales by chef Julian Obererlacher or Woodshed Provisions begin at 6:00 PM, with music starting at 7:30 PM.

General admission seating is claimed upon arrival using numbered tags, so guests can secure spots without lining up early.

Because of the intimate venue size, many performances sell out quickly throughout the season.

The atmosphere stays relaxed, creative, and unmistakably west coast.

Market Days on Salt Spring

No summer visit is complete without spending time at the island markets.

Saturday Market

Every Saturday during the summer, the famous Salt Spring Market fills downtown Ganges with local artists, makers, farmers, bakers, musicians, and food vendors. It’s one of the island’s best places to discover handmade goods, fresh produce, flowers, coffee, and live music all in one afternoon.

Tuesday Farmers Market

The Tuesday market offers a quieter midweek experience focused on local produce, prepared foods, baked goods, and seasonal ingredients straight from island farms.

Both markets capture the creative and community spirit that makes summer on Salt Spring feel so unique.

Around the Island

  • Ruckle Park sunsets remain undefeated

  • Burgoyne Bay stays packed with swimmers and kayaks

  • Ganges patios fill with music after 7 PM

  • Local galleries and studios continue hosting summer showcases

Island style this season: linen shirts, faded band tees, market jewelry, and jackets for late ferry rides home.
